I'm at a loss here. I am not able to get our Articulate product to test successfully with the ADL SCORM test suite (2004 3rd Edition), AND am not "techy" enough to know how to read the logs, etc. for debugging.
There are 2 TIRs in particular that Im trying to replicate and resolve:
1.When a user terminates the course window, a secondary window remains. This window contains a Launch button. If the user clicks this button, an error log is created in a pop-up window, and the course does not launch again. The user must terminate the second window as well as return to the LMS.They have provided me the data on the error log, and I can pass this along to you if it will help.
2.Upon completion of the course, the LMS is not tracking the course as completed.
1.1.2 Completion Requirements & Supporting Data: Check the SR.Did the developer describe requirements to achieve complete status? If required for completion, were correct responses for all activities/assessments/evaluations provided.
oWe did not have any activities, assessments, or evaluations but required the learner to physically touch all but 5 frames in the product to accomplish a complete status in the Articulate product.
5.4.1 Course Completion Requirements: Review the Course Completion Requirements as provided on the Test Support Information. Are the requirements clearly stated, and is all information necessary to achieve completion provided?
oThe Course Completion Requirements identified on the cover sheet were incorrectly written as Learner should be able to pull a transcript showing completion of the course, and should be able to print a certificate for all courses completed. Our developed to requirements were that Learner will need to complete xx of yy frames (yy minus 5) to receive a completion status for the course. Upon completion, learner should be able to print a certificate.
Peter beat me to it. Heather, I think that should resolve all of your errors. Basically, the LMS is expecting to receive API calls from the launched window (looks like it's in an iFrame). Since your relaunched content doesn't probably know where the LMS is (it's out of the window scope) there basically isn't any communication happening between the course and the LMS. There may be other problems, but try this first to see how much clears up and what types of errors remain.
Unfortunately, this is already disabled ... :( Any other thoughts? We are using a "customized skin" that a contractor created using SDK ... could there be something wrong in his code that would override this?
You may want to try using a default template like Corporate Communications and see how that works. If it works OK, you would need to contact the skin developer directly.
Will do. I have to find a way to test this out in an environment that mimics MarineNet to see if that resolves the issue, which is actually by biggest challenge. They have a unique way of doing their testing and do not provide access to a Test Server for development. We don't know what's wrong until the product has failed their tests.
Do you know of any ways to replicate their environment that could be useful? I've got migraines working these issues and "resolving in the dark" ...
Testing on more than one LMS could be helpful. I use Scorm cloud (http://cloud.scorm.com) to test most of my stuff. It's not identical to MarineNet but could give you some insight. A development account is free.
After doing a number of different tests and trying a whole slew of things, I'm still experiencing issues. I've just submitted a case and the associated files (Articulate package and MarineNet Design and Development Guidelines).
Can someone confirm they have been received because there were a few hiccups while uploading.
I'm not seeing anything yet. Were you given a case number? Did you submit the case under a different name or email? If so, feel free to PM me the name or email you used to submit the case and I'll continue to check on it.
Thanks. I did not get any confirmation or case number ... so I'm guessing it didn't go through. Should be under hzyoung or hyoung. I'll resubmit now though!

Hi Heather. My first suggestion would be to review this article and see if it helps you out.

Hi, Heather -
Post the failed portion of the logs here. Might be able to tell you where it's going wrong.

Hi Heather,
It sounds like you may want to disable the Launch presentation in new window option from within Player Templates > Other:

Hi Heather.
You can't truly mimic an individual LMS outside of the LMS unfortunately.
Testing on more than one LMS could be helpful. I use Scorm cloud (http://cloud.scorm.com) to test most of my stuff. It's not identical to MarineNet but could give you some insight. A development account is free.

Peter,
I finally received the confirmation email. My case number is 00279894and I provided the source file package with it.
Thanks!
Heather
Cool. We've got it now, and Gren will be helping you out. Thanks for the update!
