Hiding the Sidebar - one slide only

Dec 16, 2013

In 09, you could hide the sidebar on specific slides and make the view different... I can't find where to do that in 13... anyone know?

Basically, I want the presentation to have the sidebar to show, with the exception of one slide.

Hi Ron,

By "sidebar" are you referring to the menu that would typically show up on the left-hand side of the presentation?

You can hide this from a specific slide by clicking on "Slide Properties". Select the slide you'd like to change in the list.

From here, find the "Features" section in the bottom right-hand side of the window.

Click on the drop-down menu and select "Custom for the select slides".

Here you can disable the options for the slide, including the menu - this will only adjust this option for this specific slide.

If that's not what you're trying to change, please let me know.

Thanks!

Yes, I am referring to the area to the left that houses the menu, however, by unchecking Menu it only removes the tab menu, in 09 this is what made the sidebar not be present.

As you can see below in 13 it only removes the tab MENU, I am assuming that the LOGO is keeping this area pesent, however, there is not an option to not show the logo by slide.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Ron,

Thanks very much for the additional information and screenshots!

I was not aware you were using a logo - I apologize. This is an issue we're currently investigating and yes, you are correct. The logo seems to "tie in" the space that would be provided for the menu, even when the menu is disabled.

I've updated our report with this thread. If we see any updates, we'll be sure to provide the details in any related threads.

In the meantime, it might be best to consider using an in-slide logo or displaying the menu but changing the restrictions for that specific slide. I know it's not exactly what you were wanting to do, but hopefully that's an option that will work for the moment.

Thanks again, Ron!
