How to change a slide without losing audio ?

Jan 15, 2015

This is actually a repost from several years ago but perfectly describes my situation as well.  I could not find a sufficient answer; hoping someone has a great solution.

I have a little problem. I have a complete narrated presentation. Now the presenter made some changes in slide 4 and he sent me by e-mail the new slide. That new slide should take the place of slide number 4. If I import that new slide, it will be add to the presentation. But, I want it to take the place of the original slide number 4. If I delete the original slide 4, I will lose the audio associate with it.

What is the easiest way to replace a slide by a new one ?

Hi Craig!

You could copy/paste the content, but if you truly import, you will have to manually add the audio to the slide.

Here is our documentation on merging two files for instance:

1) Open all the PowerPoint files you want to merge and decide which will be the master project.
2) In each of the secondary presentations, select all the slides you want to merge, then press Ctrl+C to copy them.
3) Switch to the master presentation, click the slide thumbnail after which you want the new slides to appear, then press Ctrl+V to paste the copied slides.
4) If the secondary presentations have Presenter audio, export a copy of the audio files.
5) Then, import the audio files into the master presentation.
