How to install Articulate app for latest Kindle Fire

Oct 17, 2016

Others have asked online, and I could not find a posted answer for myself, either, so when I found a way to get the Articulate app to work on my Kindle Fire, I thought I would share it.

1. Using a regular computer, go to the directions for users in China, who (according to the article) cannot access the Android store: https://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/how-to-install-the-articulate-mobile-player-app-on-android-devices-in-china

2. Download the android.apk file to your regular computer.

3. Copy the android.apk file to your Kindle's downloads folder, using your USB cable to connect the regular computer to the Kindle.

4. Use the Kindle feature to install the android.apk file. You may need to enable the setting to allow you to install apps that are not from the Amazon store; you may see some warning screens about unknown apps, etc.

I suppose you could just download the file directly from the linked Articulate site to the Kindle, and save a step, but the regular computer has more anti virus stuff hopefully checking downloads.

Anyway, it would be great if the app was added to the Amazon store, but at least this solution worked for me.

Hi Jason,

It sounds like you recently updated your iOS and now the Articulate mobile player is not working? Did you already try uninstalling and redownloading it from the Apple App store?

Also, what version of Articulate did you use to publish your courses to the AMP? I saw you posted in this Presenter forum and in this Storyline one too - so it would help to know which authoring tool and version you're using.

Okay I got articulate installed on the kindle, I have all the files on kindle which I found on skillcommons.org.  Now the browser won't talk to articulate.  Articulate states "Tap course link from an email or webpage to get started".  I have the webpage open but it doesn't connect with articulate mobile player.

I can do basic html coding if necessary.
