How to make Articulate Presenter work when installed after .ppt?

Jun 08, 2013

I have just installed the trial version of Articulate Presenter, and after that I just installed PowerPoint (2003) on my computer., and have not been able to have the Articulate tab on my PowerPoint 2003 yet. Since the Articulate Presenter is the trial version, I cannot uninstall it. I have already checked the guidelines for installing Presenter on PowerPoint 2003. Any suggestions?

Hi Phil,

The Articulate tab is now on Powerpoint menu, however, for some reason when I try to publish my project (which is similar to this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOoVim0HBaU), there  is no output file in the published folder for my file. So I could not see the published version of my project. Do you  have any suggestions?

Thanks,

~E

P.S. I have also attached a snapshot of the published error that I receive on my web-browser, and that is while my internet connection works well on all other web-pages.

Edit: And I restarted my computer and Articulate tab disappeared again, I tried re-installing it but it did not show in the Powepoint tab afterward.

Hi Edelweiss,

First, please make sure you're working with local project files and publishing to your local hard drive:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Hopefully that will help with the output files.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to use the steps outlined in the following article, but it may help resolve the issue:

Unexpected or erratic behavior in Articulate Studio '09

Let me know if you see any improvement.

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes I am trying to publish my project on my main drive and my internet connection also works well on all other web-pages. I have attached a copy of my powerpoint file in this message. I am trying to make something similar to this sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOoVim0HBaU

I would appreciate it if you could check and see if it works on your computer, because I still get the same error when I try to publish the file from Powepoint (and now I have the Articulate tab on the menu bar as well).

Thank you very much in advance,

~E

Hi Edelweiss,

Thanks for the file, but unfortunately I would need the Presenter Package file in order to test this. Can you share it here, or send it to us privately?

Please create an Articulate Presenter package by following the steps in the following article:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package

Attach the .ZIP file to the second page of the following form:

Submit a Support Case

Please be sure to include a description of your issue and also include the URL for this thread in the case. Also, if possible, please share the case number with me, so I can follow up with you in this thread. You're welcome to share the case number in this thread, or send it to me in a private message.

Thanks!

Edelweiss,

I just realized you may not be able to create the package, if the ribbon isn't functioning for you. I apologize.

I went ahead and pulled the PowerPoint file into a presentation and published it:

Edelweiss presentation

The presentation published successfully for me, so I'm wondering if it's an issue with the machine, or the installation of Presenter.

Can you take a look please?

Thanks!
