How to share player templates with other peeps on my team

Dec 27, 2010

I'm working with a group of other e-learning developers on a short-term contract. We need to be able to share the same player template because we're each working on different modules that all need to pretty much look and behave the same. I've designed the player template, but I don't see a way to get that to my colleagues. How do I copy the template I've designed, and send that to my teammates so that they can use it in their work too? Is there an easy way to do it?

Yeah, you can do that. You need to find out where the template is stored on your computer. It depends on what operating system you're using (see this knowledgebase article: http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=914). Once you find the file, you can send it to your colleague and then they can copy it to the location on their hard drive where templates are used. Hope that helps!

Here's another way: if you send a colleague the PPTX and the PPTA file for a course you're working on, they can get to your template that way too, because your template's stored in your PPTA file. When they open up the PowerPoint file and click Publish, they should be able to see your template name in the Template selector. It'll say "In Use" after the name. They can click on the (...) and then choose File>Save As to save a copy to their computer. Then it'll be on their hard drive and they can apply it to other presentations they work on.
