Hyperlink Changes
Jan 19, 2012
Why does PowerPoint (or Articulate) change my forward slashes to backward slashes when trying to create a hyperlink from my slide to a file? Currently, I have to fix the address for every hyperlink before I can publish a presentation. And, I have several presentations with multiple hyperlinks to files. A LOT of extra work. I appreciate any and all tips on how to fix this.

Hi Jacqueline!
From this earlier thread:
Unfortunately, there is a bug in PowerPoint that is causing your issue. However, there are a few workarounds that you can try:
First, you can use a URL shortener like tinyurl.com to create a relative hyperlink per this post:

Another solution that I've heard about is saving the presentation as a PPT file instead of PPTX file.
I've also heard that this solution works as well:

I hope that's helpful!
If this works correctly in your file/folder structure, placing the linked file in the root level of your project package may avoid this.
Thank you Peter and Jim for replying. I will give both suggestions a try.
you can use a macro to correct it before you publish
