I have a link in my course to a PDF document that is located inside our organization's firewall on our intranet. I first tested a link to an HTML document and it worked fine but when I click the link to the PDF a window starts to open but then abruptly stops and closes. Any ideas?
Hi Robin! Welcome to the community. Do you know if the pdf is on a web server? Does the link start with http:// or something like //servername/folder/etc ?
Hi Mike - Thanks for the response! The pdf is on a web server and the link starts with "https://". We are in the process of changing the pdf to an http document to see if that will work for now. We will know if that worked very soon. It would be great to resolve the pdf issue though either way. Thanks again!
Thanks Robin. Linking to a PDF that is on a web server should be pretty straight forward. If you've already checked for the usual suspects like a mispelling, missing character, etc etc the other factor could be how the computer is set up to view PDF documents. Some are set to launch a reader app like Adobe, etc and some to view directly in the browser, etc. sometimes the file association gets lost and the computer doesn't know what to do with the PDF document.
Have you tried to see if it works on a different computer?

Hi Mike,
I believe I have encountered the same issue. If the file association gets lost, how to i fix it?
Thanks!
