Hyperlink to Attached PDF

Apr 30, 2013

Is there a way to hyperlink to an attached PDF within a slide in Presenter - Office 2010? I'd like a text link on a slide to launch the PDF.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Shylah, welcome to the community

Hyperlinks to existing web pages are supported in Presenter '09.  However, hyperlinks to existing files are not directly supported in Presenter '09.  That being said, you can create a hyperlink to a file by doing the following:

  1. Right-click the text or object in PowerPoint and select Hyperlink.
  2. Select Exisiting File or Web Page.
  3. Type the name of the file into the Address field, including its file extension. It's case-sensitive, so be sure to type the file name exactly. (You can't browse for the file.) See an example in the image below.
  4. Publish your presentation.
  5. Locate the folder that contains your published output.
  6. Place the file you linked to in the root level of your published output. This is where your player.html file resides.

Alternatively, you can embed the PDF.
