I am using the trick of placing a transparent box over my images and linking to other slides using the box. When I publish to presenter its not working. I have the slide properties set to advance by User, should I choose automatically?
I just made a test..one was semi transparent, others transparent. The semi transparent hyperlink box works, the rest do not. any ideas? Truly perplexing.
Hi Denise, silly question but are the transparent shapes actually the top level (although I'm not sure if it matters)? Use the slection pane to make sure they are on top, and that they actually contain the hyperlinks. Also I think the hyperlinks only work as Next slide, previous Slide or a specific slide in the presentation.
Nope not a silly question at all. First thing I checked was that they are on top. The box is on top of an image and textbox that are grouped, but the box is not part of the group.
I would check a couple of things. Articulate can be funny with shapes with hyperlinks.
Ensure that you shape has a fill colour and that is set to 100% transparent (sometimes 99% works). Often if your shape does not have a fill it gets stripped out when published
I would make sure you are checking a published file not preview as hyperlink do not work correctly in preview
Finally I would ensure you are testing in the environment you intend the final version to be i.e. on the web
If you can say yes to all these then there is no reason why it shouldnt work
I do agree with Blair I would not group a hyperlink, I try to keep all my hyperlinks as seperate objects, Sometimes the order get mixed up in a grouped object
THanks so much! 99% works. It was also suggested to import slides into a new file in case of corruption so I did that too. The hyperlink box is not grouped with the other objects.

Have you tried ungrouping the image and textbox, then with the box over top?
