I'm on this long project of converting scores of training programs that use flash... so in order for them to run on an iPad, I have to convert them into .mp4's and then insert them into presenter, replacing the SWF file.

I'm having trouble telling which is which... In another thread I posted my dismay at not being able to identify the filename of an embedded object like a flash video or mp4 (there's no way to do that, right?  if I "right+click" on either the flash or the mp4 it tells me little useful info even after clicking properties).

Anyway my question is this:

When I open a presenter file and I look at the slide with the video on it, how do I tell mp4 from flash?

If I right click on the video it shows me thumbnail.swf "movie" name. c:\users\jim powell\appdata\roaming\articulate\presenter\project\f34397cc-5dcb-4e63-b7bc-1b371a43bd9e\videos\7da7d81f-bff5-47d1-91a7-c0a8006f6118\thumbnail.swf

So the only rather primitive, clunky way I've been able to figure out which is which is to go into the articulate tab and try and "edit" the "video"... if it's really a flash file, it won't work and I know it's something else.

There's gotta be a better way to quickly identify the filename and the type of file visually.

Any ideas?

Jim
