Image over Flash

Hello,
Is there a way in Presenter to insert an image over a Flash Movie? I have attached a file that I want to use, but I want to overlay an image on top of it.
I am hoping to keep this within Presenter if at all possible.
Any ideas or example based on the attached would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any effort put into this.
Cheers,
Dave

mmmhhhh.. you also will need Adobe Flash, not only fireworks!
See Dave Moxon's website on Creating a Video Labeled Graphic Interaction (http://daveperso.mediaenglishonline.com/2011/06/02/creating-a-video-labeled-graphic-interaction/). He show's you how to put a video into the background of the ppt slide and when this is done, one can put text other graphics on top of it.
You are killing me and my wallet! Ok....off to download a trial of that as well.
Cheers,
Dave
Hi Dave, flash sits on the top layer in articulate so its not really possible, you can put an image over a swf or flv in quizmaker
I think David Anderson did some sort of masking tutorial once but cannot lay my hands on it
Hey Phil,
Thanks for chiming in on this one.....
I will try to do a search or contact Dave to see if he has is tucked away somewhere. DM's solution looks good...I just printed the instructions off to have a go.
I have a large project coming up in the next day or two so I am laying the groundwork now.
Cheers,
Dave
Hi Dave -
Have you tried opening your .wmv in Video Encoder? Video Encoder works great for this type of example where you need to place a static image over a video.
Some more options:
Here's a possible way to insert images over videos using Quizmaker:
https://player.vimeo.com/video/148896218
Now, you could load the image dynamically using Flash. The image would be published in Flash as a .swf file and loaded over your video in Presenter:
https://player.vimeo.com/video/204933200
What kind and size of image were you looking to place over this image? Do you only want a static image? Animated content, text over the video?
Hey David,
Just took a look at the Screenr.....it would appear as thought Video Encoder is doing that same work, but automatically...am I right in that thought pattern?
What I am trying to do is replicate PowerPoint templates from Presenter Media for use in a published Articulate course. These templates have .mov files on the master slides. When you publish them, you lose the animation. I want to deconstruct them in an attempt to have them work with Articulate.
What I have done is extract the .mov file from the slide master, then put it through Video Encoder to convert it to Flash. Ultimately, I want to use whatever I create with Articulate as my title screen, so I need to be able to add text over the 'animation'. This will mimic the original template from Presenter Media. That is, of course, unless you have a more clever way to do it.
I never thought of using Video Encoder to add a graphic over this.....nice one! As for your Flash solution, I know zero about Flash, so that would prove to be more challenging.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks for the help!!!
Cheers,
Dave
Another thing popped into my mind....
When using Video Encoder, what custom size do I use to take up the entire slide? I want to have as much of the screen used as possible after I publish and insert the Flash Movie in Articulate.
Cheers,
Dave
Hi Dave,
The maximum allowable size for an inserted Flash movie, FLV, or MP4 in Presenter ’09 is 720 pixels by 540 pixels, so you should ensure that your inserted Flash movie is 720×540 or smaller.
Brilliant Brian...thanks for that nugget!
Cheers,
Dave
