Have been playing with Flash CS4 and built a SWF using one of the lessons in Adobe's CIB manual (lesson 6 for those that know it). Plays perfectly when published, i.e. rollovers behave as they should, and the main image alters according to whichever button/rollover is active. But when inserted into AP it plays automatically: each main image appears one after the other and you can't interrupt this by hitting any of the buttons. SWF is running independently of slide etc.
Is the Flash file published as AS3 or AS2? When a movie plays automatically, constantly cycling states, this indicates a script problem. Since Articulate doesn't support AS3, you'd probably see this symptom.

You may want to take a look at the Flash movie best practices here:

Nail on the head Steve - it is indeed written in AS3. Will make some changes and I'm sure everything will then be fine.
I'm hopeful that the next release of Articulate will be AS3-happy.
Cheers
Hi Simon,
You can always use web objects if you don't want to mess with changing the code:
