Indenting level on nav bar slides doesn't work after hidden slides
Mar 22, 2011
I'm building some modules that need to have the side menu representative of the chapter structure, i.e.
1 Chapter One
1.1 Sub-chapter 1
1.2. Sub-chapter 2
2 Chapter Two
2.1 Sub-chapter 1
And so on ...
All the slides in-between must be hidden, therefore allowing the learner to jump only to chapters or sub-chapters. Works fine with level 1 slides and any slide that follows immediately after at level 2, but all the other level 2 slides (e.g.1.2. Sub-chapter 2) display at level 1 even though in Slide Properties they're set to level 2 (with the previous slide set to level 1 but hidden). And therein lies the problem in that the hidden slide loses it's level 1 status, therefore any level 2 slide following immediately after will show at level 1 only.
Is there a way around this? Haven't figured it out yet.
Thanks

Will do.
I don't think this is necessarily a bug - maybe just an oversight that means level 2 indenting "forgets" to work after a hidden level 1 slide - if you know what I mean.
Cheers
I decided to go for the easy option for now and just add a couple of spaces in each sub-chapter's name. Looks fine and am not too worried about the lack of collapsing nav etc. Does the trick and the customer is happy
I am experiencing the same problem. Thanks for the tip on the workaround!
Hey, I just saw this and thought it might be helpful in the future: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/391/888.aspx#888
I dont think its a bug, you have to make sure you have set the level of the hidden slides and then hide them, you cannot set a hidden slide to level 1 with, visible level 2 after it and get the menu to work
Thank you for the help! You just saved me some work. Many thanks.
