Inserting a .swf movie

I'm creating a course that will have software demonstrations as part of the instruction. I recorded the demos using Captivate software. When I inserted the movie into articulate (on a PowerPoint slide) and published it, the video wouldn't play properly. I was told the Flash version Captivate publishes in isn't acceptable in Articulate? Captivate won't allow me to publish in an older Flash version. Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue?
