iPad support on my LMS server
Dec 07, 2015
I am using the Litmos LMS server system with Articulate Presenter and am having difficulties with my iPad users.
All the courses run fine on PC's but iPad is screwy.
I've tried publishing for HTML5 using the Tin Can API but still get spurious results. I've been trying to avoid the mobile player as it's just one more step.
Has anyone else had experience with Litmos? If so, did you run into this problem? How did you solve it?
I can go the mobile player route if necessary, but want to make sure that this will work. I would need to publish in Tin Can, and select HTML5 and mobile player...right?
Would everything now work correctly that way? My problem is compounded by the fact that I don't have an iPad, so it makes checking the results difficult.
Please, any help from anyone would be appreciated as this is extremely frustrating.

Hi Steve,
What browser are you viewing the content in on your iPad that is causing the odd behavior? You'll want to confirm you're using one of the supported browsers here. If you want to use the mobile player and track results back to your LMS, then yes you'll want to publish for Tin Can and select the Mobile player option (you don't need to select the HTML5 option unless you want that as an option too).
Hope that helps!
Does the mobile player play Engage interactions?
Hi Steve,
Yup it does - are you running into a particular issue? You'll see the comparison of Engage elements and how they'll behave in Flash, AMP and HTML5 here.
Well it looks like publishing in SCORM with HTML5 should work fine with iPads, as it'll just fire up the Safari browser. That's what I'd prefer, keep it simple.
Glad that set up will work for you Steve - if you need to use the Mobile player app and are tracking in your LMS, you'd want to look at publishing for Tin Can API.
