Is it possible to make a good e-learning course without Presenter?

May 09, 2011

Hi

The company I work for wants to start with e-learning courses so our customers can learn how to work with our software in their own time, whenever they can and want, instead of coming to an on site training. My boss purchased Articulate Studio 09 recently and has handed me the task of exploring this software and later on building the courses. The problem is, a couple of months ago all computers in our company were replaced, and upgraded to windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010, 64 bit version. Which means I can't use Presenter, it just won't work Powerpoint.

Can I build a proper e-learning course without Presenter?

Will there be something done so Presenter will eventually work in Powerpoint 64-bit?

Or should I convince my boss to downgrade?

Hi Evi & welcome to Heroes,

As you know, Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010.  However, Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version.  To review the recommendation from Microsoft, please see the following TechNet article from Microsoft:

Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version.  For more information, please review the following article:

If you'd like to see 64 bit support for Office in a future release, please submit a feature request to us by using the link below:
