Is this where everyone is hanging out now?

Feb 11, 2011

Can't tell for sure, but it seems like this place is dragging people across from the original forums?  Or maybe it's attracting a different crowd?  Don't know the statistics obviously, but I feel like I need to be in both places at the minute.  That's not a bad thing (and not a moan) - just curious about where you see this one going ... Doesn't seem right to post in both forums.

Probably just me and my Friday meltdown.

Hey Simon!

This is definitely where you want to hang out We're keeping both forums open for a while to help everyone transition over here, but this is where you'll want to start posting questions going forward.

To your point, yes, we are in both places right now. We're monitoring the other forums and slowly directing users over here.

Here's a recent post from Tom on what's going on here with the new forums: http://www.articulate.com/blog/announcing-e-learning-heroes-your-new-e-learning-community/

We'll be disabling new posting capabilities in the old forums in a little more than a week - Tuesday, February 22, 2011, which, I just realized, is exactly 5 years and 1 day from the day that we officially launched the original forums!

Maybe we should change it to Monday, February 21 to make it an even 5 years?

Speaking of that 10,000 posts thread, Gerry, it took us 4 years, 9 months, and 23 days to hit the 10,000th post in the old AP forum... any bets on how long it will take us to get there in the new forums? I guess we'll first have to enable a thread / post count feature... unless someone wants to count manually?

That's way cool, Gabe.  I'd go for the even 5 years myself.     Or else consider at least one leap year in the equation and say its an even five on the 22nd.

As for how long it will take to reach 10,000 posts here, I propose a new contest.  The winner is the one who gets closest to picking the exact time it takes to get there.  In winning, they get their personal top 3 Articulate enhancement requests fulfilled.

[Thud.]  I think Mozealous just fainted at that one.

Articulate staff are exempt, of course, and Price Waterhouse will announce the winners.  Super Heros can enter up to 1,826 times.

 Geez, I can be wicked some times . . .   :)

Seriously, I bet it'll be a lot quicker to reach 10,000 now, but that's about how good I am at these types of things.

Of course about 1,000 of those posts will be me, David and others exercising our Photoshop abilities.   :)

Let's say, take my dwindling IQ multiply by the miles to your house divided by the square root of the number of great tutorials that Tom, Jeanette, and David have done minus Brian's age plus the number of beers Justin can drink in an hour and I get 3 years, 5 months and 26 days.

By the way, things are getting really, really goofy today.  I was doing some Lotus Notes programming to beta a new form that we need and added this button to it.

It's our version of American Idol.  If you sing well enough, you'll get your new LMS report.  If not, I'll be Simon.

Minus my age?  What's that supposed to mean?!?

Sounds cool - I hadn't got round to checking out some of the latest posts and had no idea this place was going to be quite so proactive

Looking forward to being a part of the next generation of elearning heroes!

Keep up the great (and I reckon that's a uniquely great) work!
