Issues embedding Captivate 6 into Articulate Studio 09

Mar 03, 2015

Hello group,

Working on a course that we'll eventually be housing on our intranet and not LMS. But, testing via Scorm Cloud and Review My e-Learning. It's a 7 slide Articulate course with slides 4,5,6 having captivate embedded. It's not interactive Cap files - just system video demos. Tried first to import as a web object, but for certain people it wouldn't play the files (including me when i zipped and uploaded files to dropbox and then downloaded - so it wasn't playing locally off source files). Republished with a few tweaks but now the web object doesn't load properly and doesn't play automatically. Tried then inserting swf as a video and now I just get the Adobe Captivate load bar which just keeps looping and a harsh static noise that doesn't end no matter how long i sit on the slide.

Not sure if the publish settings I'm using are messed up (Captivate 6) or if there's just a glitch in the source captivate files. The rest of the articulate course plays fine so there's something going on between the two when articulate trieds to play captivate. Any ideas - would love to hear them.

Thanks. Short term fix was importing mp4s for a course that's going onto intranet. Long term fix is to move to studio 13 but we have a very complex situation with our LMS so in the immediate future I need to find a fix using 09 and CP6. Been trying to import web object but it doesn't want to seem to work properly.

Well - now facing a huge problem:

1. When I publish the course(s) the course asks me or anyone else (including while using review my elearning) to save the html file instead of playing the videos. I must have reset or touched a setting somewhere on my PC , but I don't have a clue as to where. So no I'm stuck. I need the embedded objects to help save on file size. I can't just publish to mp4s all day long as some of the later courses in the series I'm working on will get too big.

Any thoughts or help?

Thanks
