Was it only one person that was unable to download the attachments in your course, or have others reported the same problem? If it's only one user, it may be system-specific.
Can you share a little more information about what happens when they try to download the attachment, please?
So far, it's been reported by one person. It was the attachments in two separate courses...one created after the the Articulate 9 patch and the other created before. I'm trying to find another user with IE 10 on Windows 8 to test again.
The modules both played with no problems and both recorded in the LMS correctly. When the user click the attachments tab, it opened and they could use the scroll bar and see all of the links. When the user clicked on the hyperlink to call the attachment, nothing happened. It just sat there. I had him try to right click and change his settings to compatibility view. Nothing work.
If you have access to Articulate modules on an LMS, you should be able to test. If not, let me know how to send you a private message and we'll take this off line.
There's two ways you can do this. The fastest would be to click on my name to the left (under my avatar). This will open up my profile page. Just click on "Send a private message" on my profile page, to the left.
Click on "Create Message" on the right-hand side. When the new window opens enter "ChristineHendrickson" with no spaces. You'll see two (ignore the second account, that's just for testing). Select the first name, and you should be set.
If you have any trouble with this, just let me know.
My IT staff helped me figure it out. To download attachments from modules prepared using Articulate Studio 09, Internet Explorer 10 must be in compatibility view. Otherwise, when you click the attachment hyperlink, nothing happens.
I'd be interested in knowing whether anyone using Articulate Storyline has run into this issue. I'd like to know whether it's on the Internet Explorer side or the Articulate programming side.
Odd. I haven't seen any reports similar to this, so I'm wondering what's going on.
The users that are experiencing this issue, have they accessed the courses prior to the update, by any chance? If so, I wonder if it's a simple issue with caching. If they haven't already, see if they're able to clear their browser cache and attempt the course again.
If this still happens, please go ahead and let our support team know what's happening. If this is an issue with the update, we'll definitely want to look into it as soon as possible:
So far it has been users who have been accessing our content in the last few days. Just yesterday at 4:30 pm I spoke with someone who was attempting to finish a course, and when i checked it, the same error we used to see before the update occurred.
She was able to view other items in Google Chrome. It has only been coming up in the past week. Clearing the cache does not seem to help.
After reading all these posts I got confused somehow. What are the steps again to solve the IE 10 problem? What should I do to update existing already published presentations?
By existing projects, do you mean projects that are already uploaded to Articulate Online? All Studio ’09 content in Articulate Online was automatically updated.
Are you having trouble with content that's already been added to Articulate Online in the past, or new presentations?
If you can, please give a little more information about what you'd like to do, or if you're having any trouble with this.
Thank you Christine for your prompt reply. We have multiple presentations which are published to LMS (IECC output). We run them on our LMS. Yesterday I run your IE 10 updater and it fixed the issue for my test presentation (no script popup). I looked at the files after the scan to see where the changes were made and noticed only on file was updated “flashcommand.js.” Does this mean I can grab this [flashcommand.js ] file and replace it in all my remaining published presentations? OR do I STILL have to run your scan to fix other presentations? Thank you.
I wouldn't copy that file over, because it was created for a specific presentation.
If you're distributing your content in your own LMS, you'll want to republish your presentations and then upload them to the LMS. After you do this, everything should hopefully run as well as the first presentation.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions!

This solution solved all our thousands of courses and we didn't have to republish it. Thanks!!!
Awesome, Susie! Really glad to hear it
Can I just clarify?
We have all our Studio 09 generated quizzes hosted in Articulate Online.
Does this mean that they will automatically be 'fixed' for IE10 without us doing anything?
And has that now been done, or is it still delayed?
Thanks
Lawrence

I downloaded the update when it was made available and published a new course 3 days ago.
Someone with IE 10 wasn't able to download the attachments.
Has anyone else had this issue? Help?

Any ideas? Is this an IE 10 quirk?
Hi Rebecca,
No, not that I'm aware of anyway. However, I'm currently running Windows 8 and I have access to Internet Explorer 10, if you'd like me to take a look.
You're welcome to share the link in this thread, or you can send it to me in a private message, if you prefer.
Just let me know if you're able to share it.
Thanks!

Good morning Rebecca! I hope you had a great weekend.
Happy to hear that your IT department was able to help you resolve this.
I have heard of a few issues with Internet Explorer 10 and the need to use compatibility mode for some sites, courses and documents.
Again, though, I'm running the same setup here, if you'd like me to take a look. I'd be happy to let you know if I see the same thing on my end.
Thanks!
Christine
Have there been anymore reports of these errors? Recently we have had a few complaints with the same errors as before this fix was in place.
Welcome to the community, Emily!
Can you share a litlte more information about what's happening, please?
Have you installed the update and republished your course? Or have you used the Articulate Online update?
Thanks!
Christine
We completed the update a few weeks ago, and it seemed to resolve all the completion issues.
However in the past week we have had people coming across the same completion issues as we saw before the update was installed.
It only seems to be occurring with IE 10.
Hi Emily,
Thanks for getting back to me!

Hi Emily,
Thanks for the additional information. If you've had the chance to submit a case with us, can you please share the case number?
I'm curious as to what's causing this as well and I'd like to follow the case progress, if possible.
Thanks Emily,
Christine

One issue I forgot to mention. After the fix the presentation opens in a tiny, tiny window. Any idea why? No script error thought. Thank you.
Hi Margaret,
Hmm, not sure about that one. What type of window is it? Can you adjust the size, or do you only have the option to close it?
When does the window open? Does it open as soon as the course is launched, during the presentation, or after you close the course?
Thanks! :D
