It is me or has the Presenter Video gotten smaller??

Dec 07, 2013

I have been wondering if it is me or an illusion.   In Presenter 09 presenter video published in a slightly bigger presenter window that Articulate 13.   It is me or is it fact?

Even with video in a 4 -3 format rather than 16-9 I cannot fill the entire presenter window.  Scale appears smaller and the white border seems to remain.

Just asking?   Is there a way to make the presenter video window equal to the previous version?  Should I prepare video or produce it in a different format or scale?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Hi Robert,

Are you referring to the overall presentation size, or the Presenter panel? I believe you're referring to the panel, but I just want to be sure.

I do know that we're aware of some size issues with custom presentation sizes (I reported this issue last week) and we are working on resolving some quality issues with the Presenter panel itself (more info here).

The panel issues should be resolved in the next free update. We're currently investigating the sizing issue for Presenter '13 output with customized slide sizes.

If you're seeing a border when adding a Presenter panel video, please let me know if this happens when previewing, after publishing or both. Also, have you tried any other sizes for the video? What format are you current using?

Thanks!

Thank you for the post reply.  I have attached two images for the same presentation

Image titled Dave 1 reflects a presenter panel video utilizing A13

Image titled Dave 2 reflects the same video output in presenter panel A9

With A13 I now must should in a 4:3  Standard format to get a slightly larger and more square output in the presenter panel.

I am experimenting with different sizes but to me the output

is still smaller and the white border seems like wasted padding. If the video filled the entire space (no white padding)  It would be better.

Your thoughts please.

Happy Holiday

Hi Robert,

Thank you very much for the additional information and images!

Any chance you could share the video you're using in your presentation? I'd like, if I may, to test with that video.

If the file size is too large, it may not post here. You're welcome to send it directly to me, if you have any trouble attaching it here.

Just let me know if you end up sending it through the form, so I know it's available.

Thanks again!

I upload two videos ... The first is the video (flv) shown in the images I sent.  The second is a video (mp4) in a 4:3 format as opposed to the 16;9 wide screen in the flv video.

I both cases the presenter panel scales them to a size that is smaller than AP 09   .... or at least I believe it does.

Thank you for your effort and for working this for me.

It has been nearly a month and I wonder if progress is being made relative to the video output discussed above.  Articulate and this problem places many of your faithful users in an awkward position since our work and the work of clients is at a standstill if video is required.

It is a big loss and an important update and fix.  Just hoping this is still on the front burner and a resolve is getting close.

Hi Bob,

I hope you're doing well!

I haven't seen any updates on this just yet - however, we have been discussing items we'd like to see resolved with the next updates. I have flagged this as one of my "top" items. I can't say for sure whether or not a fix will be released with the next update, but I'm hoping this is included.

If I hear anything new on this, I'll be sure to share here as well as on my own Twitter page. Articulate will also announce any other updates through the sites I mentioned earlier, so definitely check to make sure you're following us for news.

Thanks!

Thanks Leslie. I've actually raised the issue with the support desk but as
yet no resolution. Essentially, I have two identical Win7 laptops running
Articulate 13 Update 5. One displays the presenter video without borders
and the other displays it with borders! For the machine, that has the
borders, I've re-installed Articulate and run the recommended fixes but
still can't get rid of the borders!

If you have any suggestion, please do let me know.

Many thanks

Michael
