I don't think there is a direct way to say "playSlide(x)". The HTML5 API is much richer than the Flash version. Take a look at my API explorer - maybe you can find out what you need there.
You can access the Javascript layer by accessing the user.js file, which gets created if you make at least one trigger to execute Javascript in your project - (but you probably already knew this).
I've been looking at the published obfuscated Javascript files and wondering if it was a way in there for some other things. - {*HATE* plumbing obfuscated files!}
