Jumbled Tables

Hello: This used to happen years ago and I thought it was corrected. Come to find I have a student who is still seeing jumbled tables in Presenter (see image). Why are tables not supported properly?
The workaround is to take a screenshot of each table and insert it as an image, which is what I've done in the past. However, my courses have a lot of tables and this is inefficient.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

We have again been experiencing "jumbled tables" when publishing. We typically re-publish a couple of times until it shows up properly; or, we create an image of the table. We would love to be able to use tables normally again!
Hi, Keith. I'm so sorry this oddity keeps rearing its head and am happy to help!
This behavior sounds very similar to an open bug we're investigating, and I'd like our team to have a closer look at your Articulate Package to determine if it is related to it. Would you mind sharing a sample copy of your file with us via this link? Also, what version of Studio are you using?
I'm experiencing the problem with jumbled tables as well. Like some of the other users who have posted here, the results are inconsistent - sometimes the tables look correct when published, sometimes they're all jumbled. We're on a tight deadline for The Coca-Cola Company and this is really causing some delays.
Hi Katie!
I’m very sorry, but we have already re-created the course with images rather than PowerPoint tables and we don’t have an earlier source file. However, almost every single PowerPoint table created, when published to HTML 5, gives us this sporadic problem… meaning that the table gets jumbled about 50% of the time.
Hi Peter,
Sorry to hear that you're running into an issue with this as well. If you could share your Articulate Package with our team privately here, we could take a look.
Hey Keith,
Thanks for the update. Let us know if you run into it again and in the meantime, we'll follow up with other users here to try to track this one down.
It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
Hey, Leslie. The course I'm working on is for The Coca-Cola Company and includes some proprietary information. Can you confirm that this will be eyes-only and won't be distributed anywhere?
Hi Peter,
Yes, the link to work directly with our team is here.
This is not in the public forums and will allow you to work with a support engineer privately.
If an NDA needs to be signed, we can do that as well :)
So was this jumbled tables issue ever resolved? I experience it repeatedly (but not consistently!) with my Studio 360 files. It is incredibly frustrating!
Nina
Hi Nina,
We still do have an open issue specific to text within a table being squeezed together. Inconsistently, as you mentioned, but typically before or after another slide with a table.
Is this what you are seeing as well?
I've just published my first articulate package with tables. Some of the tables are fine, and others are completely jumbled up.There appears to be no rhyme or reason. I just went to check in Preview, and they are showing jumbled there as well. Why would different tables in the same document behave differently?
Hi Bonnie,
It could be something with how each table was formatted. If you're able to share a copy with our Support Team they can help you track it down and get things working right again! They'll want a copy of your Presenter package to take a look.
Thank you for your reply. I've already been in contact with Support and they believe that there is a system bug, and the teams are exploring further.
Thanks for letting us know you've opened a case, Bonnie. We'll keep you in the loop as we make progress on this bug!
Thanks Alyssa.
FYI the email notification I received with your reply shows your message, and has a "Reply" and a "View" button in it. However, the "Reply" button doesn't navigate anywhere, except opening a blank, new browser window. "View" does work, and gets me back to this thread.
I have just upgraded to Studio 360, and it is disappointing to realise that this problem persists, and has not been sorted out in this new version.
For me, using a screenshot of a table is not an option, for one, the amount of tables, and secondly, they have to be translated to multiple languages.
The only surefire way of correcting this, I found, is to re-save the presentation as a different type each time the table text gets jumbled. By this I mean if the presentation is saved as a pptx file, re-save it as a pptm file and then re-publish. When the problem reoccurs again, re-save as a pptx file and re-publish again.
I have a 100% success rate with this method, but have much wasted time checking published modules for jumbled tables and re-publishing them.
Surely, four years plus must be more than enough time to get to the bottom of this problem?
It doesn't work in Articulate 360 either
Eugene,
thanks for the workaround!! works for me. I would never have thought of that in a million years!!!
Hello,
I have another workaround and temporary fix to the "Jumbled table" problem.
Before publishing a module with this problem, delete the contents (subfolder) in "Articulate.Presenter\Cache001" folder.
Typically, the path to this is as follows:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Articulate.Presenter\Cache001\
Works 100%, both in Presenter 09 and Presenter 360.
Greetings, everyone!
We released a new update for Studio 360; check out all the latest improvements here!
In this update, we fixed the issue in Presenter 360 where table text would display all together in a single cell.
Here's how you can update your authoring apps to see everything this update has to offer. Be sure to let us know what you think!
