Killing the AP6.exe process

May 06, 2013

Please help! Everytime I try to use a function with Presenter, QuizMaker or Engage it appears that it is not-responding. In the Task Manager Processes AP6.exe appears then grows and grows in size. Our IT support person said I need to kill the AP6.exe process.

I have to end the process twice prior to anything working. It is making development near impossible. Has anyone expereinced this before? Any ideas?

I have been using Articulate for years and this is a recent issue. No new laptop, software, so not sure what could have changed.

I have submitted a case & they recommend reaching out to the uber awesome community to see if you have any ideas.

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the community :)

I was able to find your support case (#00332274 for my reference) and I see that Vira is working with you.

She just recently sent out some troubleshooting steps for you to try. If you can, please try following the steps she recommended and let us know if you still experience issues with running the software.

If you haven't received her email, please be sure to check your spam folder or filters. If you're still unable to find the message, just let me know. I'd be happy to try sending it out again.

Thanks!

Hi Jodi and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Here is the information that was shared with Jennifer

If you are experiencing unexpected issues while working with Articulate, ensure that you are creating, editing, or publishing a Presenter project, from your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working from a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes you've made to your project, and loss of resources.

Also, if you haven't done so, please restart your machine. In random/obscure cases, machine can be in a strange state if left running for too long. Restart your computer first to see if this cures the problem.

If issue persists, please carefully follow the troubleshooting steps in this article to eliminate possible corrupt or faulty installation with Studio '09 or other programs that rely on it.
