LMS Status not adjusting properly (when learner re-takes the module)

May 19, 2017

Hi everyone!  We currently use and LMS via Edcomm Banker's Academy.  When I publish to SCORM 1.2 and set it to Completed/Incomplete status it usually works fine the first go round.  The issue happens when a learner has to re-take it a second, or even a third time (perhaps as a referesher).  The first time, let's say the score is 75%  and not completed successfully. When they go in the second time, let's say now scores a 95% and passes.  It will track the new score of 95%, but, it's not marking it as "Complete".  Any thoughts?

Hello Jenn!

It sounds like you have a minimum score required to pass the course, AND that the course is not complete until it's passed.  Is that accurate?

Is there any difference if you try to set the reporting options to Passed/Incomplete?

Also, can you upload it to SCORM Cloud to compare its reporting in that environment?

Let me know how you make out!

Crystal-  Thanks for your reply!  Yes, the minimum score is 80% and needs to be marked "Passed" or "Complete."  I just gave that a whirl and chose the Passed/Incomplete option and it updates the score (let's say I scored 85% prior and this time 100%).  It updated to 100%, but, didn't mark me as "Complete".

I tried it in SCORM Cloud and everything seems to be working fine.

We've been reviewing this link with no luck :( :  https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-quizmaker/scorm-completion-reset-upon-restart

Thanks!

Hi Jenn!  Thanks for the update.

Success on SCORM Cloud indicates that the course is reporting properly.

Do you have an LMS support team that you work with?  I would run this information by them, and let them know about your SCORM Cloud results.  They might be able to advise you on how to get completion to record properly when retaking the module.
