Losing audio when publishing to LMS (scorm 1.2)

Apr 09, 2013

Hey All! I usually publish our Articulate products to the web, but we had a request to share one of our courses to someone else's LMS. They needed me to publish it in the scorm 1.2 format. However, when they get the files, and play the course, there is no audio!

Everything appears to be in working order on my end. Suggestions for how to troubleshoot this loss of the audio? Am I supposed to do something differently when publishing for an LMS?

Thanks for any tips you might have!

Hi Krista!

You may want to try testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side. If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know how it goes...

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion!

So, it appears that the audio is working for all the Engage and Quizmaker components (which I had a prompt that they could be updated prior to publishing, and I did go through the update). But, the audio associated with the basic Presenter slides did NOT transfer.

As I'm unfamiliar with publishing to an LMS, is there something about the end format that might be creating this problem?

Hi Krista,

Hmm, I'm wondering if maybe the audio files became separated prior to publishing. Have a look at this article and see if it might help explain what's going on with your missing audio.

If you're still having trouble, we'd be happy to take a closer look at it. First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!
