Mac user seeking hardware/software advice
Aug 05, 2011
Hi there,
I have a trial version. A client asked me to learn Articulate so that she could hire me for projects. She knows my skills as an instructional designer. I have a MacBook.
I have followed a thread of advice and:
- Downloaded Parallels
- Installed WIndows XP
- Installed the version of PPT I own (PPT 2000 - ugh!)
- Installed Trail version of Articulate.
Problems:
Articulate freezes. I think this is due to memory issues.
It doesn't record narration or animation.
So - where lies the problem? Memory? Version of PPT? Why doesn't my mike work? (It works for everything else.)
I wonder if it would be much better (cheaper and easier) to buy a used laptop than to buy all the software for my mac machine.
Thoughts about this? Thanks,
Annamarie

Hi Annamarie & welcome to Heroes,
First, you'll need to prepare your installation of Parallels for Articulate by using the best practices here:

If you continue to have issues, please let us know.
I use a macbook pro with parallels and 4gb memory with no probs, should probably instal memory but it works fine.
I wonder if you have all the parallels tools installed as this can produce errors
It will likely be cheaper for you to but a second hand windoze laptop
