menu numbering

Hi Emma,

By default, slides will be numbered in the Articulate Presenter '13 menu, but you can change that. Here's how:

1. Go to the Articulate tab on the PowerPoint ribbon, and click Player.
2. Click Menu on the ribbon.
3. Click the Additional Options button (gear icon) at the bottom of the window.
4. Uncheck the box to Number entries in the menu automatically.
5. Click OK twice to save your changes.

Is there a way to change the numbering style? Instead of 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.,  we wanted it to be just 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

Hi Edz! The numbering that you are asking about is the default numbering method used. You will see 3.1 or 3.2 in a quiz, for example, or any thing that you've designated as an indented menu item.

Please tell me there's another option for numbering...  I'm working with a course that was built with an earlier version of Presenter, in which the numbering is a single sequence unaffected by indentation.  The client wants the revised course to look the same, but I'm finding no option to change the style of numbering.  Are my only options either tiered numbering, or no numbering?

Have you tried adjusting the indentation within the Player Menu?

1. Select a title in the Menu editor.
2. Click the right arrow to increase the indent or the left arrow to decrease the indent.

Thank you for the suggestions.  In Studio 13, it seems that adjusting the indents doesn't affect the numbering (unless I keep all slides at a single level, which isn't an option).

Leslie, how is the numbering added manually?  I know it's possible in '09, but I don't see any options to do this in '13.  Thanks!!
