I purchased a cad usb port omni directional mic which was suppose and I have a buzz. I recorded the narrative anyone and have connected with the support for the microphone. How and can I get rid of the background buzz or do I need to record?
Electrical buzz can come from a lot of sources. It's very likely your usb port is too close to your power cable. Do you have another port you can plug your mic into? That will often make all the difference.
Moving objects such as cell phones and cordless phones away from your laptop can also help.
Can you post a sample of your audio? That could help us identify possible issues.
Yes I had my cell phone in the room nearby and I remember using the two USB ports one is closer to the power cord than the other. I am not sure how to pull out the audio to post but will look at the tutorials which probably cover this. I am new to the articulate software so some things are intuit and others are not.
Oh and I forgot to ask do you need internet access to record the narration to the slideshow. I noticed that this can not be unchecked (it wants to connect to explorer or other search engine. I was hoping I could record the voice over with out it and I prefer to use the presentation to time the animations as the narrator speaks.
Hi Sheri - I agree with David, you really don't need an active internet connection to record audio. I suggest you to check your sound settings. There you can find an option for noise reduction.

Hi Sheri - To record audio in Storyline, you don't need an active internet connection. Here's a tutorial that should help: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/adding-sound.aspx
I'm not sure what you mean by "can not be checked". Can you say a little more about what's not working? Maybe attach a screenshot if you can?
