MP4 Videos from outside Vendor into Articulate to SAP LMS

Apr 28, 2011

I am new to Articulate, so not sure about the tool.  I have an outside Vendor creating 8 videos for me in MP4 format.  I need to get these videos in a SCORM compliant format, so we typically use Articulate for this.  If I upload the MP4 into Articulate, what are my steps to adding a quiz and then publishing into a scorm compliant format.  Our next steps internally are to upload to the SAP Authoring tool and then to our production env (after being tested of course).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jodina & welcome to Heroes,

If you are unfamiliar with how to publish Articulate content for your LMS, please review the below articles which outline instructions for publishing. The actual upload process will vary depending on your LMS. Please consult with your LMS for specific instructions on how to upload content to your LMS.

To publish a quiz to your presentation, see the link below:

Hi Jodina and welcome to Heroes -

Do you want to do anything more with your course other than insert 8 mp4 videos followed by a quiz? If that's all you want to do, you have an easy project

  1. Import your mp4 videos--one at a time--by going to Articulate > Insert > Flash Movie. Set your desired video behavior (synchronize to slide or play independently. Most likely you'll want the videos to synchronize with the timeline.)
  2. Create a new quiz in Quizmaker and publish using one of the options included in Brian's link. You can either publish to your open presentation or you can save your Quizmaker file, close Quizmaker and insert from Presenter by going to Articulate > Insert > Quizmaker.
  3. Adjust your Slide Properties to control how your slides play: automatically or when user clicks next button.
  4. Publish to SCORM as required by your LMS

Hope that helps but please let us know if you have questions.

@Ruby2010: Since mp4 files are supported in Presenter '09, there's really isn't a reason to convert them to another format. Or were you thinking of converting for another reason for using the converter tool?
