When I'm previewing my course and I hover over the multiple choice answers, sometimes they shake and quiver. Is this a bug? Or do I need to check my settings?
I am also experiencing this - quiz answers shake/quiver when hovering over an answer or trying to click on it. I did copy and paste the content from another tool. It does this shake when published to html5 for a quick test. Has anyone found a fix to this? Should I delete my choices and type them it?
Hi there Peggy - that's certainly odd! First you'll want to make sure that you're working from your local hard drive and that you're testing the published content on a web server or LMS (not locally).
The idea you mentioned above would be a great place to start . Delete the answer choices from one slide and type them in manually. Does that help any? You can also try importing the questions into a new Quizmaker file to see if that fixes the issue.
If you're still seeing shaky answer choices after the import, the next step would be to send the file to our Support Engineers. They're rockstars, and you'll be in good hands!
Thank you so much for your reply.
I found that if I recreated the question (and did not copy/paste from another tool) the question options did not shake.
I am running into this as well. I tried the fix of re-typing the answers in there and that did not work. We do not have time to re-do the questions in Quiz maker. Any other ideas?
Hi Adam, I thought my issue was that I copy and pasted from a word document created from a different authoring tool. Once I deleted that text with the hidden formatting (in the quiz question, options and feedback), it solved the issue. Fortunately, my quiz wasn't very long but I did retype and was happy it solved the issue. I think the root cause was the hidden formatting in the original text.
BTW: Sorry it has been a while since I had this issue but was thinking that I did end up putting the Quiz text into Notepad. Notepad automatically strips the "hidden formatting" and then copy/pasted from Notepad into Articulate.
We are also suffering from this issue, it happens when the course is published and viewed in IE11. I can't seem to get them to work by typing the questions manually or by copy/pasting from notepad either, any other ideas?
Thanks for letting us know what's going on. How did you publish the file--for LMS or Web? Where did you host the content after it was published?
It would be really helpful if we could see a sample file that has this issue. Could you attach it to this thread? If you prefer to send it privately, just click here. Thanks!
I do have a case logged for this, but in the meantime I may have found a workaround.
If you space out all your question answers, so that they are not touching each other and are not touching the outside bounding box... it seems to get rid of the IE11 shake (so far).
We do have an open issue for this, so I'll connect this forum thread to it as well as that's a good workaround to share with the team. In the meantime, viewing Flash in IE or Edge or using Chrome/Firefox to view the HTML5 output is the recommended workaround.
We'll keep you posted here with any other updates!
Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is how we fixed the issue whereHTML5 output would blink or flicker between slides in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
This just came up with one of our clients courses. I put in a support note before I found this thread. We'll try the spacing fix and see if it clears the issue on our client's LMS system.
Thanks Bob - I found your case and gave our team a heads up that you posted here too. They'll check in to confirm if you've got the latest update and are back up and running.
Just checking the thread for this issue as well. I'm having the same thing happen still. This is with a course previously designed in SL 2, then updated to SL360. This is only one of many issues that are occurring. Another is just slides themselves doing this "shake".
Thanks Tracy - I found your case and let our team know that you also posted here.
I also took a look at Bob's case and found that it was an issue with the checkbox choices being too close together and he was able to separate them out to stop the shaking from happening. If you give that a try, please let us know (here or as a response to your case).
Will there be an update for Storyline 3 on this? We have discovered this issue when we make a quiz, and add triggers to submit when the user selects any of the radio buttons (they don't have to hit the submit button). If they hit submit, there is no problem, only when we use our triggers.
The move the answers workaround does work as well, but would be labor intensive.
The fix mentioned above was for a problem where the slide itself would shake or blink, but it sounds like you're having trouble with answer choices shaking. Is that correct?
Funny enough, I do. lol. I've also opened a support ticket and sent them this file. Currently, we've only tested this in publish to CD. It doesn't do it in preview. I do not have direct access to post to our LMS. That process takes a while, so we have not tried an LMS file.
The first slide will shake when the choice is selected. It does not matter if it is correct or not. The second slide is only where we tested the fix mentioned in this thread.
Still having this issue with the latest version of SL30 3.12.1467.0
As long as the outline box isn't at the far edge, and the qs inside are not touching it and spaced out the shaking disappears.
But also I have found my feedback layers bounce as well. The only way to stop the bound here is to ensure nothing is touching the edge of the slide or even hanging over the edge.

Hi Katie!
I'm not sure that this is an issue that I have seen reported before.
Are you able to replicate in a new project? Is this a QM file inserted into Presenter?

The file was published for LMS. Once on our LMS, you can see question answer options shake randomly when selecting/unselecting.
The same issue can be replicated launching the course locally. Issue is in IE11, Chrome works as expected.
Hi R H
can you share the .story file just the quiz slides

Hey Trey,
Thanks for mentioning that you were working with the support team as well.
Looks like Jonathan has reached out to you and is assisting. I'll let you continue the conversation there.
Ok - thanks for checking in on me!
