Narration issues

May 23, 2018

Any thought please

Open ppt

Articulate

Record narration

Records ok

Next slide does not come up in main window (although notes for next slide do come up in side pane)

Slides in main panel then become corrupted visually (slides in slide panel OK)

Have rebooted

Cheers

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear you are running into difficulty when recording narration.

Does this happen in any course you are working on or are you just having difficulty with this particular course.

Please be sure that you are working locally (on your C: drive) as I have seen this cause issue before.

If it's just this file, you may be able to resolve PowerPoint file corruption in this manner:

  1. Open a new, blank presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Go to the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow beside New Slide, and choose Reuse Slides.
  3. In the Reuse Slides panel, click the Browse button and choose Browse File.
  4. Browse to your original PowerPoint file and click Open.
  5. At the bottom of the Reuse Slides panel, mark the box to Keep source formatting.
  6. Right-click the first slide in the Reuse Slides panel and select Insert All Slides.
  7. Save the new presentation and republish.

Note: Articulate resources, such as audio and video, will need to be inserted again into the new presentation. You may need to export the narration from your original presentation, then import it into the new presentation.

If it's all courses, I'd check out the repair as listed in this documentation.

Hi and many thanks for coming back to me.

These issues happen whenever I open any powerpoint - all ppts are on the C
drive, and I have tried starting a new ones on desktop - all the same.

The main window in the narration box containing the main slides does not
move - the slide pane to the left does - and the notes pane to he right also
changes. The arrow and spotlight etc does not work.

I have uninstalled and re-installed Studio 360.

I am working on an 8GB laptop with 95% of HDD remaining with genuine Windows
Professional 16 installed on the machine.

Any other thoughts - what drives the change in the centre pane?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

It looks like you posted here with another Articulate ID, so I also wanted to make sure you're using the correct Articulate ID connected with your 360 subscriptions. Depending on how you're logging in and out and sharing files with another user, that could be contributing to the issues of corruption.

I'm not entirely following the issue you're having with navigation, so it would be helpful if you can you take a Peek of the problem? You can include the "Share" link here in your reply!

If you'd also prefer to work directly with our Support Engineers they're available here.
