Navigation problem - can't skip ahead despite player setting

Mar 30, 2012

I previously published a course with player navigation settings allowing the user to view slides in any order, and that worked fine.

Now I have made come content changes, including adding a message to a popup in Quizmaker, and re-published.  Now when I view the course, you cannot navigate freely (with the exception of one slide in the middle.) Skipping ahead to select any other slide (except that one odd one) delivers an popup with no title and no copy, just an okay button.

I'm stymied and would appreciate suggestions.

Curtis,

Are the slides that the user is getting "stuck" on engage and quizmaker slides?  If the engage or quizmaker slides are not set in the properties at the bottom to "allow user to leave the interaction" at "anytime" this could cause the pop-ups.

One of the reasons pop-ups can be blank is if you tried to make the quiz transparent.

Pop ups will also be blank (throughout the presentation) if in the player templates the "custom texts" cells in the "text labels" section are blank.

Hope this helps,

Heidi

Peter and Heidi,

The main issue here is that all the slides (not just Quiz or Engage) in the outline (except one) are not view-able until all the preceding slides are viewed.  I have the player template navigation setting as "Free - user can view slides in any order"  This worked in the previous version but something changed when I published the latest.  I mentioned that the popup is blank because I have no idea what is generating it.  Thanks for the help, I do appreciate it.
