Need hyperlinks to return to first slide

Dec 16, 2020

Hi all,

I have a presentation in which I want to hyperlink buttons on the first slide of a series and then to automatically return to the first home slide so the user can then select other hyperlinked buttons.

I can't figure out how to do this. The first hyperlink works but then I can't get "back" to the "home" slide to access the other buttons. I could put a previous button on the slides but that isn't really what I want.

I note that there is a "show and return" button in the hyperlink box but it is greyed out. Might this be what I need? A bit of research showed that, in PPT, you can create a custom show and then use this button. I tried this but it didn't work. I suspect this is an easy fix but I just can't figure it out. I've attached a sample section of the presentation so you can see more.

Thanks,

Nina

Hi Nina ... I think with the setup you have and the description of what you want to do, you can return to the first screen automatically. You'd have to decide how many seconds the user would remain on the "answer screen" before returning to the "question screen."

Here's how.

In slide properties, set each incorrect answer screen to auto advance, and set the branching for NEXT to the question slide (slide 1).

The default for slide duration is 5 seconds, so once you land on an answer screen, you'll stay there for 5 seconds then auto-advance, branching back to slide 1.

I hope this makes sense!
