New to Articulate and a few first issues
Nov 18, 2015
Hi all,
I am brand new to Articulate and have started looking at Studio 13 (have a full license). My first issues are:
- can't access either Record Narration or Add Annotations in Presenter through PowerPoint, it comes up with Run-time Error '-2147319779 (8002801d): Automation error. Library not registered.
- can't publish quizzes into Presenter, it adds a blank slide at the end, tells me in Quizzmaker it's been published successfully, but the slide is blank
I have checked the obvious: updates and add-ins that I could find here but nothing has worked so far.
I am working in PP10 and Windows 7 in case it makes a difference.
Natasha

Hi Natasha,
Welcome to using Articulate and I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've run into so far!
When I've seen that error before, other users shared that they were able to resolve it by conducting a repair of Presenter. Additionally you'll want to make sure you're using the "record" elements from the Presenter ribbon vs. the Powerpoint ribbon. If recording doesn't work as a whole, you may want to investigate the documentation here and see if those steps assist.
As for the Quizmaker set up - are you beginning in Quizmaker or within Presenter? The repair may assist with that as well, so I'd begin there and then please let us know how its behaving after that.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your reply. All the settings for the headset are as they should be, so it's definitely not that.
Thanks for the information on the repair though, I'll try that with our IT department.
Hi Natasha,
Please keep us posted on how things are behaving after the repair. If you're still having difficulty we'll want to take a look at some more information about your Presenter files and the system you're on so it may be easiest to work with our Support engineers.
Hi Ashley,
I have tried everything you suggested with our IT team and it's still coming up with the same error. I will now log an incident with your Support team.
Thanks Natasha and I see that you've reached out and Abel has been in touch to confirm some elements so I'll continue to follow along in your work with him (# 00699662 for my reference).
Hi Ashley,
Our IT department has found the cause of the problem. I had Lync installed on my computer, which once uninstalled, has allowed for Articulate to work without any further issues.
Might be worth you additing this potential solution to one of your articles here?
Many thanks for the quick replies - it was great to feel you were trying to help as much as possible.
Thanks for that update Natasha and I"m happy to hear your IT was able to resolve it. I see you also shared the information as a part of your case as well with Abel.
