No more Flash with window 8 and android

Dec 20, 2011

Hello there,

Just read that the Window 8 tablets coming out will not be supporting Flash anymore (de desktops however will). Also read that Adobe is turning down Flash for the Android platforms. HTML5 will superseed Flash I understand and this raises a few questions on my end.

1. Will the new Storyline support html5 and be able to play on iPads

2. Will the new version of Studio (2012?) do the same?

3. Will the new Studio be able to convert existing Studio 2009 presentations into html5.

I am a bit woriied that when present customers change over to another operarting system (Apple or Win8) questions will arrise if there e-learning applications refuse to work anymore.

If my questions have already been posted I appologize.

Best regards and Merry Chistmas and a Haapy new Year to all of you,

John Pieterse

Information released by articulate supports that both Studio (new version) and Storyline supports html5 and will play on iOS devices.

Storyline will import Studio projects and I expect the new studio to as well

I would not worry though all Macs and PC's (Even windos 8) will have flash it is only the tablet version of windows 8 that will not support flash

Flash will be with us for a long time I suspect

Thanks phil.

Practical constraint - Flash is not supported on iPad and many smartphones like Blackberry.  Same for Windows 8 for tablets.  This is becoming a major constraint.

Good that iPhone is supported but its population is miniscule.

New software should cater to emerging requirements of the market with Flash not being supported by leading players.
