On very long slide, seekbar stops, but audio continues

I'm aware of the support topic and workaround, "On very long slides, why does my seekbar stop, but audio continue playing?," and have used it successfully when I had audio narration last longer than 9 minutes. However, I encountered the same issue with an embedded swf video file on a slide. The video is 11:57, so I changed the fps from 30 to 20, which extended the duration to 18:31, but the seekbar still stops short, at 13:48. I even tried 15 and 10 fps and those didn't work either. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? I'd really like to avoid having to split the video and create another slide.
