On video insert mp4 not recognized
Mar 22, 2017
Working with Adobe Premiere Pro exporting media as mp4 (H.264 HD 720p 29.97) works inconsistently. On short video 10 to 15 minutes there isn't a problem, SL360 inserts video and plays as expected. When inserting a video longer than 45 minutes I get the following warning:
"filename.mp4" does not appear to be a supported video format. Please select a video from one of the supported formats.
Both the short and long videos were exported by the same program using the same parameters. Is there a limit to what the encoder can read or process?

Hi Bruce,
Sorry you're running into this! A few things to check:
If you're working locally and getting the same error message in a new file, could you send our Support Engineers the longer video file so they can test it? You can send the file to them using this form. If the file is too large to attach, feel free to store it elsewhere like Dropbox, and send the download link.
Thanks! I've submitted the mp4 files and the Storyline 360 file.
Thank you, Bruce! My colleague Renato is testing your file now (case 01042454), so you should hear back from him shortly.
So, Bruce - Alyssa, any outcome on this? Same issue, and my MP4 is short ... ?
The advice I got was to clear out the storyline preview files. This seemed to work, but at times I still have issues with longer videos. I also clear you and Adobe Premiere preview files and when it is rendering in Storyline I don't have any other process or programs open.
Best of luck.
Thanks for sharing your solution, Bruce.
John, we'd be happy to test your file and let you know what we find. You can reach our support team 24/7 by clicking here.
