This is an "is it just me?" question where I am curious if anyone out there is experiencing the same thing:
Is it just me, or does it take a
long time for quizzes to open from PowerPoint, and also save back to
PowerPoint when you are making edits to them? Maybe this is an inevitable tradeoff since Quizmaker is a
separate application, but for me sometimes it takes 30 seconds for a
quiz to open or close. I'm just curious if anyone else experiences this, or if maybe there is some other software conflicting.
The speed at which Quizmaker opens depends upon several factors related to your computer specs. Also, you'll want to make sure that your files are located on a local hard drive and not on a network or USB drive.
Yeah - I always use my local hard drive. In fact I use SyncToy to back things up to the network, something I haven't done for a while...so I'll be right back...
Ok, so I figured out that I can open the Quizmaker quizzes faster outside of PowerPoint from the project folder where the PPT and PPTA files are located -- is this ill-advised though? e.g. does it cause any updating issues when you go back into PowerPoint/Articulate Presenter?
In my experience it's just very slow (I have a fast Windows 7 PC). I'm sure its the combination of an add-on in PowerPoint linking to an external application. Amazing it works at all...but patience is recommended....
