I have an Articulate Presenter power point that I am editing. I had not worked on it for months, and had to load the add-ins again when I re-opened it for editing. I also updated the language to Spanish. Now the Outline tab is showing all the slide text instead of the titles I had originally typed in. When I go into the Slide Properties and update the Navigation Title, nothing changes in the Outline.
Also, since you haven't worked with this project in a while, have there been any changes to your installation of Office, etc.?
It may also help to make sure you're working with local project files.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Are you using Studio '09 or Studio '13?
