packaging presenter files causing powerpoint to freeze

Feb 08, 2013

I'm trying to package up presenter files, but it's causing powerpoint to freeze. The wheel spins and spins and powerpoint says it's not responding. I tried restarting my computer and closing everything else that's open. Any other ideas?

Hi Katie,

Are you trying to package a presentation that's located on an external USB drive or network, by any chance? If so, try moving the presentation to your local hard drive and then try packaging the presentation again.

Here's some additional information:

If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.

1.  Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3.  Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
