Hello, we have page numbers built into the footer of our ppt files but when we publish the articulate presenter file the page numbers are not showing. Can you help?
Presenter ’09 will publish your slide number only if the following is true:
You are using the default slide number folio that is included in your slide master.
In Header and Footer, Slide number must be selected.
If you copy and paste a folio symbol into a slide master or on a slide, the slide number will not appear in your published output. For slide numbering to publish correctly in Articulate Presenter, you must use the "Insert -> Slide Number" feature in the Master Slide of your presentation in Powerpoint. You cannot copy the tag and paste into different slides even if this will work in Powerpoint.
I have not seen any documentation or issues yet in Presenter 13, but I would suspect the same elements would hold true.
I am currently developing a module using Articulage 13 in that I want to add page number on each page. Could you please help me on this?
I have tried using Insert page number option in the slide master. It showing only for the Powerpoint slide show but not showing when previewing or publishing it in Articualte 13.

Similarly in Presenter 09:

Using Articulate Presenter 13, here are the steps I took that resulted in displayed page numbers in the published output. As shown in these steps, I had to add the hash tag to the layout slides since the
1. In the Slide Master, click on the first header slide and then click the “Master Layout” tab.
2. Click the “Slide Number” checkbox.
3. Be sure it is the proper font. I used “Arial 9” for my presentation.
4. If the “Master Layout” tab is available for the other slides, repeat the above for the layout slides.
a. If not, copy the hash tag from the header slide and paste it to all of the other slides in the Master.
b. Highlight all of the slides and in the “Insert” menu, click “Slide Number” and then the check box. Click "Apply All".
c. Close the Slide Master.
5. Highlight all appropriate slides and in the “Insert” menu, click “Slide Number” and then click the checkbox.
6. In the Articulate “Preview” tab, verify that the slide numbers are displayed.
Hey Allen - Thanks for popping in to share here :) It may not help the previous users here, but could certainly assist someone that runs across this thread in the future.
I'm happy to help, but first I'd like to be sure I understand what you're looking to do. Are you trying to find a way to add slide numbers to each slide in your Storyline 360 file?
Yes, that's the idea. So the numbers are visible onscreen.
Thanks!

Thanks, Bob! Although there isn't a built-in feature for adding slide numbers in Storyline, you can use the method in this thread. I totally understand that automatic slide numbering would make life a lot easier, so I can put in a feature request on your behalf! 🙂
Thanks, I appreciate your submitting a feature request. I am doubtful that it will help, however, because I see that this was requested a few years ago…
Maybe if I elaborate on the reasons it will help convince the powers that be to address this in a more convenient way.
* Page numbers would help me find my place again when I come back to the project on Monday (or any morning!).
* Page numbers could be used to label figures and illustrations and photos kept in a separate library/folder.
* Page numbers would make it easier for reviewers to tell me where they would like a change. (I know there is a review function on 360)
* Page numbers would make it easier for users to tell me where they are having trouble.
* If I could get the page number where user(s) left the course early, I would know more about their experience.
* There’s more, I’m sure.
Thanks again,
Bob
This does help, thank you! I'll add all of that information to the request. And in case you'd like an inside look at what happens when someone submits a request, click here!
Thanks, Alyssa. You should also mention that there has been a lot of traffic on the forum where people posted all kinds of elaborate work-arounds and others posted the limitations in each of them, and no one is fully satisfied and there a lot of interest and room for improvement…
I'm using the most recent version of Presenter on an older PPT - it is over 200 slides, and the page numbers are not showing up - they show up on my PPT slides, but when I publish they disappear and show only the # symbol.
Please advise, this is an old thread... but I need help now to make a deadline.

Hi Stephanie,
Are you using Presenter 09 or 13?

Yes, that looks as though it might be helpful, but it does not seem to work in SL360. Is there a way? BTW, I started in SL, not PPT.
Thanks!
