Plantronics Microphone not working

Nov 03, 2013

Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me - I have a Plantronics D100-M headset. When I go into presenter and try and record narration the first two seconds record and then the sound cuts out.

The microphone works fine with Microsoft Lync and Camtasia, it jsut seems to cut out with Articulate. A cheaper microphone will allow me to record in Articulate but the sound quality doesnt rate.

Would really appreciate if someone could recommend what I could try to get the Microphone and Articulate playing nicely together

Regards

Mel

Hi Mel and welcome to Heroes!

I'm not familiar with the Plantronics microphone, and since you're able to record with another microphone, I did want to point you to some basic troubleshooting steps if you're unable to record audio within Presenter 13:

If you're unable to record narration in Articulate Presenter, confirm that your PowerPoint presentation is located on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or an external USB drive can cause erratic behavior.

If the issue persists on your local hard drive, see if you're able to record via PowerPoint:

  • PowerPoint 2013: Go to the Insert tab, click Audio, and choose Record Audio.
  • PowerPoint 2010: Go to the Insert tab, click Audio, and choose Record Audio.
  • PowerPoint 2007: Go to the Slide Show tab, and click Record Narration.

If not, it's likely there's an issue with your sound card or microphone. Make sure your sound card is working and your microphone is plugged into the correct port. You may also need to install the latest drivers for your sound card and microphone.
