Play music across all slides
Jun 21, 2012
Hi everyone,
I'm stuck.
I'm trying to have a music clip play across multiple slides. When I use the Articulate audio editor, it adds a pause in the music that leads to a choppy effect. When I use the import audio feature in PowerPoint and tell it to "play across all slides", it works when I save as a .wmv, but not when I publish it to Articulate.
Is there any way to have a music clip play across all slides, without being choppy, and in a way where I can sync animations?
I've attached the file in case it helps.
Thanks for your help!
Julie

Aha!
I found Jeanette's tutorial about adding a playlist!
Perfect!
Hey Julie!
Glad you got it working Just wanted to share the Screenr in case anyone else comes looking.
Peter,
I'm struggling with the timing of the slide transitions. Some slides have a long pause that I can't get rid of. In particular, the transition from slide 3 to 4. Would you mind taking a look? If I use the audio editor, does it conflict with the transition timing or animation timing?
(I haven't tackled the timing of slides 5-9, yet. Fyi)
I've attached the Articulate file that I'm having troubles with as well as the presentation as a .wmv with the timing that I am trying to achieve.
Thanks for your help!
Julie
Peter,
Here is the Articulate file I mention in my posting above.
Hi Julie!
We'd be happy to take a look, but we'd need you to create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help
Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Thanks!
Articulate Package uploaded.
Hi, Peter. Thanks for sharing. But I tried and im myversion (the newest one) there is no option for playlist in the options menu. Is it somewhere else?
Hi Fatima,
In Presenter 360 you can manage a playlist as detailed here, and you may also look at splitting a single audio file across multiple slides following these directions.
If you're using Storyline 360, there isn't a playlist feature or similar option to add background audio.
