Player Templates in Presenter 09

Jan 06, 2016

I want to have a course automatically resume a presentation at restart without asking the learner the resume question in Presenter 09.  I can't figure out how?!?

Hi, Julie -- Thanks for reaching out with your question! I believe the following is what you are looking for, but if not, please let us know!!

Enabling and disabling the Prompt to Resume function

You can specify whether the prompt to resume on presentation restart should be enabled on a template-by-template basis.

To enable or disable the resume option in Articulate Presenter '09, do the following:

Go to Articulate > Player Templates > Player Controls.

Check or uncheck the box to Prompt to resume on presentation restart.

Optionally, you can also check the box When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie. If selected, your presentation will rely on the LMS to resume properly. If you're unsure, leave this box checked.

Click Close to save your changes. If prompted, assign a name to your player template.

Hi Christie -
I just want to clarify....
If I "un-check" the box to Prompt to Resume; then, the learner will not
be asked the question if they want to resume where they left off.
Will the presentation automatically resume from the spot the learner
left? (Our LMS does not support the bookmarking resume.)

Hi Julie,

If your LMS doesn't support bookmarking, you'll need to use the Prompt to resume and then it'll be based on the users choice to select Yes - there isn't a way to force them into resuming unless it's something the LMS will allow for.

Also, just an FYI that responding via email includes your signature here so you are welcome to visit this forum thread and edit the post to remove that information if you'd like.
