Poor Audio, Once Imported

Hey guys,
i'm having a little trouble with the audio for the course we are working on. Admitedly its not the best audio in the word, but i have spent the last 2 days cleaning it up the best i can and ready to embed.
In Adobe Audition and WMP, the audio sounds good, but once imported into the audio importer and then previewed, it sounds rubbish. Is this because it is MP3? or is it because Presenter compresses the audio during the preview/building process?
Any help would be most greatful, the course looks really good, now i just need to make it sound good
Thanks
Keith

try:
Presentation options --> Quality -->
Check the "Custom" radio button. Below is a drop down that you can adjust the audio bitrate for publishing. See if that helps. Also, when you import, make sure you are importing non-mp3 files. WAV files work best, because, as you said, they are getting compressed again when published.
Thanks paul, i will give that ago now. got a feeling i will be going back to the orginal audio files to convert them to WAV tho
