PowerPoint Crashes (Syncing, Audio, Annotating)

May 01, 2012

I've had this problem before and thought it was corrected and here it goes again. Anytime I Sync, Annotate or Record Audio PowerPoint crashes. I've been told it's a problem with my version of Office but I'm not sure I'm buying it, plus I work for a huge corporation and reinstalling Office would take a week, which I don't have.

I have actually gotten to the point where I'm surprised when Articulate works and the expected performance is crashing. Not exactly sure that's the rep they want. This is an obvious problem with the Articulate plug-in in some fashion and it needs fixing.

Sometimes it works for me, but most of the time it crashes. So here I am recording audio and syncing and I have to do it 10-20 times per slide until it decides to work. This is not Rapid e-learning. So so so frustrating that I'm on the verge of giving up on the product. I can't keep spending hours trouble-shooting time and time again. I wonder if the Trivantis 'Snap' tool does this?

What am I to do? Is there anything besides uninstalling and reinstalling? I don't have Admin rights so this process for me would be time-consuming, plus I don't even feel confident it would fix the problem.

C'mon Articulate! You gotta get on this one, it's a showstopper!

Hi Tom,

You don't mention what equipment you are using but I had similar issues a little while back and it turned out to be a third party application conflict as described here http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=2365  - Corel WinDVD pre-installed on a Lenovo was my bugbear.

Hope you find a fix soon
