Powerpoint freezes

Aug 10, 2016

Just did the update and now when I am working in PowerPoint, I make changes using Articulate, then try to add a slide or resume something in Powerpoint. But it freezes!

I keep having to "end task" with Powerpoint and re-open the application. It works for a few minutes, then freezes again. Help please. Have Windows 10.

Hi Nancy,

Oh no! Certainly not what we want to hear, or what we'd expect. Typically when Presenter isn't working right or as expected after an update it may be an issue with the add-in and the Presenter ribbon. Can you take a look at these steps and follow those to see if it resolved the behavior?

If you're still having a hard time after that let me know, and we'll likely want to have you work directly with our Support Engineers.

Thanks ... this is very frustrating for sure. I looked at (all those!!!) "steps" to try and fix ... yikes. Not liking this.

Meanwhile, I did a "repair"  of Presenter and rebooted my PC. So this time I was asked if I want to register my Product! Yikes. So I did ... and it looked like all of the information (when I registered before!) was automatically populated. So after that, seems to be working. Bad experience with update; I am hoping future updates will not have these same problems. So far, so good.

So if I have other freezes, I'll do as you say. But not liking this. Should not have all this trouble with a new release??  Thanks for your rep;y

Hi Nancy,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you ran into, and again it's certainly not the behavior we expect. The repair and updates are a new installation of the program and if something occurred during the original install that's likely why it was freezing. The information will remain in terms of autopopulating, and registering it is best practice in the event that you ever lost your serial number or your computer crashed as a whole and you needed to reinstall all program (including Articulate) we'd be able to track down that serial number much easier.

If you run into any other difficulties please feel free to let us know.
