PPTX won't upgrade to Presenter '13

Mar 31, 2016

I have several PowerPoint (.pptx) presentations for which I need to record narration using Articulate Studio.  When I open Articulate within PowerPoint, then select “Record Narration”, I get a dialog box containing this message:

“Your Articulate Presenter project cannot be upgraded to the new Articulate Presenter ’13 file format.”

How can I deal with this problem and use the existing PPTX to record narration, so I can publish the material for use in our LMS?

Yes, I tried the suggestions, but had no luck. I have a theory there's
something within the PPT itself that corrupt. But for some reason,
everything seems to work fine until I tried to use elements of the
Articulate suite and try to record narration.

Dan,

Do the presentations have existing audio narrations?  while not the same error message, if the presentations have existing audio narrations you might try what I did to resolve the issue.  https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-presenter/articulate-presenter-13-has-stopped-working-audio-editor-crashes-and-how-i-fixed-this-particular-problem

Hope this helps.
