Presenter 09 will not publish

Mar 25, 2013

I'm running Windows 7 Pro with Office 2010 32-bit, and Studio 09.  I have a 25 slide file with one Quizmaker quiz in it, and 22 of the slides have a video inserted on them.  I use Articulate Online as our LMS.  When I click on "Publish", the process runs smooth all the way through the last slide and the step "Optimizing", then says "Preparing to upload" and closes on its own without publishing.  It does generate a .ppta file, but does not publish to Articulate Online.  I can preview every slide without problem.

All the project files are saved on my desktop - within that project folder are three subfolders 1) powerpoint file 2) video files 3) image files.  I've tried all the trouble-shooting steps I could find in the forum (File path name length.  Grouping slide items and saving as image, then insert that image.  Deleted the last slide [problem slide] and then publishing hung up on whatever the 'new' last slide was.  Updated Flash player, Java, and Windows.)

I'm hoping to get any last advice before having to go to my last resort - have the IT department uninstall and reinstall Office and the Presenter plug-in per the advice from forum post http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap9&id=zdmy7uq259x0

Hi Rachel. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Sorry to hear about all the trouble. Any chance you can send us the presentation file, so we can test publishing on our side?

Please create an Articulate Presenter package by following the steps in the following article:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package

Attach the .ZIP file to the second page of the following form:

Good morning Rachel!

I was checking in on your case this morning (saw that before I saw your last post) and it looks like John was able to test and upload the file to Articulate Online without any issues. I just wanted to check in with you and make sure you received his message. If not, try checking your spam folder with your email address. If you still can't find it, I'd be happy to send the email again.

There shouldn't be an issue with limits when using the auto feature to upload the content - it's looking more like something with the location of the file, or something on the system that's keeping it from uploading.

If you did see John's message and you're able to get the presentation uploaded, just let me know and I'll make a note on the case.

Thanks very much, Rachel

Christine

Good morning Christine - I've not yet received an email from John in any of my email folders, would you please send it again?

Hmm...no file size limits when using the auto upload feature.  You say it could be "something on the system that's keeping it from uploading" - I'm guessing you mean something on my system at work?  I'll double check with my IT department to make sure they don't have any settings in place to block a file upload of this size.

Hi Rachel,

Certainly I'll make a note that you didn't receive the message (so John is aware) and send it out again. You may also want to add support@articulate.com as a safe sender, just in case. If you still don't receive the message, we may want to consider trying an alternative email address.

Also, if your IT department finds anything, please let me know.

Thanks!
